Foreign Agricultural Service

Welcome to the Agricultural Affairs Office (AAO) of the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City. The AAO is an agency of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)/Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS). The primary role of AAO is to promote the export of U.S. agricultural products and to improve access for these products in foreign market. As a representative for America's largest industry and the world's largest agricultural exporter, AAO takes the lead in promoting American food, fiber and forest products to Vietnam importers and consumers.

Our Mission

The primary mission of the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) is to facilitate agricultural trade between the United States and overseas markets.

FAS offices promote U.S. agricultural trade and assist foreign buyers to source American food products and commodities. FAS organizes promotional activities for the supermarket, hotel and restaurant industries throughout the country; offers trade servicing and market reporting on commodities and value-added products; and provides technical information on USDA standards, development of new food products and introduction of new food technologies.
