On his most recent trip to Asia, Assistant Secretary of State for East Asia and Pacific Affairs Christopher Hill visited Tokyo, Seoul, Beijing, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Kuala Lumpur and Phnom Penh to discuss bilateral and regional political and economic issues.  Following his visit to Hanoi where he met with senior government officials, Ambassador Hill spent a full day in Ho Chi Minh City on Saturday, January 14, to discuss issues of mutual interest with People’s Committee representatives and religious leaders, as well as meeting with U.S. Consulate General officers. Assistant Secretary Hill also participated in a press Q&A session with newspaper editors in which he discussed U.S. foreign policy at length. The Consul General hosted a dinner with business leaders Saturday night.
