Deputy Consul General Opens Model U.N.

On February 20, Deputy Consul General Angela Dickey gave the keynote speech opening the first model high school United Nations conference in Ho Chi Minh City. The inaugural “SAIMUN” (Saigon International Model United Nations) event brought together more than 100 students from five international high schools in Ho Chi Minh City. The event was organized and hosted by the British International School (BIS). Ms. Dickey focused on the importance of the U.N. system and cited examples in her diplomatic career of working with U.N. agencies on global issues such as international drug trafficking, natural disaster relief and reduction of poverty.
