Consulate Staff Takes Lesson In Vietnamese Culture From Master Musicologist Tran Van Khe

Consulate staff and their families enjoyed a special opportunity to learn about traditional Vietnamese music on February 29, when Dr. Tran Van Khe, a world renowned ethnomusicologist, paid a special visit to the Consulate. Dr. Khe, accompanied by three musicians playing traditional instruments, talked about different styles of traditional Vietnamese music, the role of each instrument, and the use of voice and gesture in Vietnamese theater and music. The delighted audience left with a deeper understanding of the traditions of their host country
