On March 7, Assistant Public Affairs Officer Sunshine Ison was the featured speaker at the Institute of International Education’s “American English Adventure” program. To celebrate International Women’s Day (March 8), Ison gave a talk about women’s issues to students from the English and Sociology departments of the Open University of Ho Chi Minh City. The presentation included discussions of the women’s history movement in the United States, the candidacy of Hillary Clinton, and issues faced by contemporary American women. At the question and answer session, Ison talked with the students about women’s issues in the context of globalization and answered questions about the U.S. elections and other topics.
