English Language Fellow (ELF) Toni Hull, currently teaching at Hue College of Foreign Languages, conducted two separate workshops at Dalat University and Yersin University for 50 lecturers of English. ELF Toni Hull addressed how to manage large classes, which included reviewing principles of good classroom management, maximizing “best practices” for large classes, applicability in context of English as an international language, and modeling a variety of classroom management approaches. Participants were engaged in group work and other activities, including silent response surveys and how to make effective presentations in large classes. The workshops gave participants hands-on practice and concrete techniques to motivate students and maximize class participation.
