Assistant Secretary of Commerce Israel Hernandez Visited Ho Chi Minh City

Assistant Secretary of the Department of Commerce and Director General of the U.S. & Foreign Commercial Service (FCS) Israel Hernandez’s visited Ho Chi Minh City from June 18-20.  His visit to the HCMC included a meeting at the People’s Committee, participation in a Virtual Education Fair, and a visit to Vietnam Waste Solution’s garbage facility.  At the press conference on June 19, the Assistant Secretary answered questions from HCMC journalists on a wide range of issues, stressing that American businesses were impressed with Vietnam’s growth and interested in exploring business opportunities.  The Assistant Secretary asserted that the US had a positive long-term trade development outlook for Vietnam and he believes that the Vietnamese government is carrying out serious measures against inflation, balancing the reduction of inflation and the development of the economy.
