of women and children
On Friday, August 15, Public Affairs Officer Kit Norland and Information Specialist Le T.T. Hien attended one of ten seminars sponsored by the Department of State's Small Grants program.  The seminars promote awareness and implementation of laws recently passed to protect women and children's rights.  In this seminar, Dr. Huynh Van Son, director of the Department of Psychology at the University of Education, gave an inspirational workshop on the skills Women's Union officials and others can apply to raise awareness.  Dr. Son engaged an audience of over 150 women through role plays, team activities, and on-the-spot practice giving brief presentations.  His hands-on fun style emboldened women in the audience to join the speech drills, word games and other motivational exercises.
