On October 27, the Institute of International Education (IIE) and Vietnam National University (VNU) Ho Chi Minh City hosted the 8th US University Fair at the Legend Hotel in downtown Ho Chi Minh City. Representatives from 32 colleges and universities across the US provided 2,500 students with information about various education and training programs. Three seminars were held to discuss the college application process, financial aid, student visa information, entrance exams, and language services. In addition, the new Education Forum helped raise awareness of the fair among Vietnamese universities and provided a platform for local university administrators to begin establishing international cooperation programs, including joint degree and exchange programs. Consul General Seth Winnick spoke about the benefits of studying in America and joined VNU HCMC President Dr. Prof. Nguyen Tan Phat, People’s Committee Vice President Dr. Nguyen Thien Nhan, and IIE Vietnam Director Dr. Mark Ashwill to cut the ribbon, marking the opening of the event.
